Act 4 Scene 1

It starts off at a dark cave where there is a bubbling cauldron that made weird noises and suddenly, the three witches appears and circle around it while chanting spells and adding abnormal ingredient.  Hecate appears and compliment the three witches for there work.  Macbeth enters just as the witches predict.  Macbeth asked the witches to reveal more about the prophecy and give him the truth.  The witches summoned ghost like figures which each offer a prediction to Macbeth's ally whom he feared.  They kept showing him visions and at the last one where it shows the king lineage, it showed Banquo being at the end of it.  Macbeth demanded the witch to tell him the meaning of the last one but they refused and disappeared.  Lenox then enters and tell Macbeth that Macduff had fled to England.  Macbeth then decided to send murderers to Macduff's castle and to kill Macduff and his wife with there children.

Reaction and Questions:
When the witches started adding ingredients, I really questioned it, since it seemed weird to add parts of animals like the wolf tooth.  This scene was weird.  I don't know how else to put it besides weird.

Were all the ingredients the three witches used needed?
Why did Lenox tell Macbeth where Macduff went?  Doesn't he suspect him to be the murderer of Duncan and Banquo?
Why is Hecate and the three witches still meddling with Macbeth when Hecate got mad at the witches for showing him too much?
Why does Macbeth want to stop Banquo's son from taking his throne from him?

Prediction:
I predict that Lenox have already made a plan to dethrone Macbeth and is going to be the guy who breaks kingdom from the inside.  Before Act 4 scene 1, Lenox was talking to another lord and how they want to dethrone Macbeth because of what he has done and how he acted.

Act 3 Scene 5 & 6

Scene 5
In this scene, the three witches met the goddess of witchcraft Hecate.  Hecate scolds the three witches for meddling with Macbeth's fate without talking to her and declares that she will take over and be in command.  They know Macbeth will visit them tomorrow, so they plan on creating a false illusion to make him fall into confusion.  Hecate vanishes and the three witches prepares the illusion.

Scene 6
It was night time somewhere else in Scotland where Lennox walks into another lord to discuss what's going on in his kingdom.  When Banquo was murdered, they blame Fleance for killing him as he fled to somewhere else.  Both Lennox and the lord believes that Macbeth is the one who murdered Duncan and Banquo.  The lord tells Lennox that Macduff went to England where he will join Malcolm and get the assistance of King Edward to help them.  Macbeth then hears about the war and is preparing for it.  Lennox and the lord hopes Malcolm and Macduff will be able succeed and that there effort will be able to save Scotland from Macbeth.

Reaction
I like where this is going.  Something interesting is happening where Macbeth will have to fight for his Kingdom.  I can see what Macbeth will be made of instead of hearing all of the boring talk between everyone and his plans for the throne.

Questions
How did Macbeth hear the news that war is about to break out?
Did Lenox and Macduff planned this out from the very beginning?
Why is Hecate taking action now?
Why is Hecate consider the goddess of witchcraft?
When will the war start?

Prediction
I predict that when Macbeth confronts the witches and ask for more information about the future, they will use the charm they made to cause him his defeat in the upcoming war.  Or that someone close to him will end his suffering by killing him.

Act 3 Scene 1 - 4 Movie Edition

Both the old version and modern version were quite similar but that way it was shown was quite different.  I notice that the modern version was more dramatic than the old one and the scenes were different.  Especially during the scene where the ghost of Banquo appeared.    When I mean the scenes were different, I meant that they added an extra scene like the dancing part where one of the noblemen had to dance with a mop.  That never happened in the older version.  Another scene that was different was when they killed the mercenaries Macbeth had hired.  It showed us how they chased and the death location of each separate mercenaries before they could've delivered the message to Macbeth.  In the older version, it showed us that they were killed after they had delivered the message of there success and failure.  A smaller detail of change was how Macbeth made broke the cigarette and left the stuff in it on a noblemen's head.  That didn't happen in the older version.  The biggest difference from the modern one to the old one (scene wise) is when the ghost of Banquo appeared.  The modern one didn't really showed Macbeth being scared or frighten of Banquo, if they intended him to be frighten, they did a poorly job of showing it.  In the older version, it showed Macbeth being extremely scared and frighten when he saw the ghost of Banquo.  The biggest difference overall is the tone the character uses.  The modern one is more aggressive and angry while the older one is more calm.

Act 3 Scene 2 - 4

Scene 2:
In starts off somewhere in the castle, where Lady Macbeth is being gloom and ask the servants to bring Macbeth to her.  Macbeth goes to her and tells her that he isn't done securing his spot on the throne.  That there is still leftover business to take care of.  He tells Lady Macbeth that he planned a special surprise for Banquo and Fleance for tonight's banquet.

Scene 3:
It starts off at night, where the murders all meet up at a park outside the castle.  Soon after Banquo and Fleance arrived and got off there horses.  When they light up the torch, the murderers attacked them.  The murderer successfully killed Banquo but Fleance escaped.  The murderers leave with Banquo body and bring the dead body to Macbeth to tell him what has happen.

Scene 4:
The feast begins and Macbeth and Lady Macbeth enters as king and queen, followed by there court.  As Macbeth was walking along, a murderer appears at the doorway, where he speaks to him for a moment.  He learns that Banqou is dead and that Fleance has escaped.  Macbeth was gotten angry with there failure of killing Fleance, his throne would've been secured if he had died.  As Macbeth was returning to his guest, he sees Banquo is a ghostly form where he sits in his chair.  Macbeth was struck with fear when he saw him.  He was talking to the ghost while everyone else could not see the ghost.  Lady Macbeth made excuses for him saying he usually have visions of some sort and tells the guest to ignore him.  She then talks to Macbeth and started questioning manly hood.  The ghost of Banquo disappears and Macbeth continues there feast when all of a sudden the ghost reappears and freaks him out.  Lady Macbeth tells the guest to leave the room and when they left, so did the ghost.  Macbeth decides to go talk to the witches to learn more about the future.  He wants to know who may be plotting against him and his throne and wants a way to secure it.

Reaction:
I didn't really like how Macbeth freaked out when he saw the ghost of Banquo.  He was acting really strange and is denying his part of the murder.  Saying he had nothing to do with it.  That annoyed me so much as it showed me how much of a coward Macbeth is.  Since in the beginning, I heard good things about him just to find out it was pretty much a lie.

Questions:
Will Fleance find out that Macbeth hired the murderers to kill him and his father?
Will Fleance take revenge on Macbeth?
Where did Fleance flee to?
What will Macbeth do to the witches if they don't tell him what will happen in the future?
Will the witches curse Macbeth if he does something terrible?

Predictions:
I predict that Macbeth's throne will be taken much quicker now that he attempted to break the prophecy.  I also predict that Macbeth will become a coward when everything doesn't go the way and try to be for mercy for his life.

Act 3 Scene 1

During this scene, it starts off with Banquo thinking about the prophecy the 3 weird sisters spoke of.  It all came true as Macbeth had become King and he thought that his son will become king after Macbeth.  Macbeth and Lady Macbeth enters and invited Banquo to a feast that they are hosting tonight.  After that, Macbeth discussed with Banquo about the problem with Malcolm and Donalbain and how they may be plotting against the crown.  After Banquo left, Macbeth told everyone to leave the court where he could be alone.  Soon after a servant brought two men, who were then identified as the murderer whom he had hired.  He asked if they were still angry at Banquo and they replied yes.  Macbeth accepts their promise in murdering his old friend.  He reminds them that they must kill Fleance along with his father.

Questions:
Why is Macbeth trying so hard to keep his position?
Does Macbeth believe he can break the prophecy?
What will happen if the murderers were to fail the assassination?
Will Macbeth's title of being King shorten with this plan of assassination?

Reaction:
I didn't like that tactic Macbeth used.  Hiring an assassin to do his dirty work doesn't sit right with me.  It feels really dirty when your sitting back being all happy and someone else is doing your work for you.

Prediction:
I predict that Macbeth's assassination will fail because of the prophecy.  Since his prophecy came true, there's no doubt the next one won't come true.

Extra:
I can relate Act 1 scene 4 for killing of the king.  One time, I was playing a game with my friends and I wanted the weapon he had and I didn't want to buy it myself so I would kill him for it.
Another connection I can make is to Act 2 scene 3 where the porter is talking about hell.  I can relate that to my room in the summer because it's hot as hell where even the fan would blow out hot air instead of cold.  It's so hot it can probably cook an egg.

Act 2 Scene 3 & 4

Scene 3:
In this scene, it starts off with a porter who enters the scene and talks about hell-gates.  Lenox and Macduff enters, and Lenox complains to the porter on how slow he respond to his knocking.  The porter responded that he was drunk and that he drank too much alcohol.  He said that his drink can make someone lustful but removes the ability to have sex.  Macbeth enters the room where Lenox and Macduff asked if the king was awake.  Macbeth replies that he's still asleep and would take them to the king's chamber.  When they arrived, they saw the king dead and the guards that where on guard had blood all over them with bloody daggers.  Macbeth used this chance to kill the guards and claims he was enraged with the death of the king.  Lady Macbeth was ashamed that something like this happen under her roof and faints.  Macbeth and Banquo rally up the lords to discuss the murder of the king while Malcolm flees to England and Donalbain flees to Ireland.

Scene 4:
In this scene, it starts off with Ross, a thane who walks outside with an old man.  They talked about all the bad things that had happen from the last few days.  Macduff then enters the scene and told them that Macbeth had been make king by the other lords.  He also added that the king's guard were most likely the murderer and that they've been paid to do it.  The blame had then been placed on Malcolm and Donalbain as they fled the scene.

Reaction:
I'm quite disappointed with these two scenes.  At the beginning of scene 3, there was a pointless dialogue that talked about hell and demons.  Not just that, when Macbeth killed the guards.  The murderer could've easily use them as bait to keep himself safe which was the goal.  That irritated me since they couldn't try to figure out something or at least tried to stop Macbeth from killing the guards.  Especially when Lenox and Macduff accepted the pathetic excuse when Macbeth claims he was enraged by the death of the king.  I just didn't like the way the author made that part beneficial to Macbeth.

Questions:
How did Lady Macbeth faint when she was the one who planned out the murder?  Was it just an act?

How did Macduff come up with the conclusion that the guards who where guarding the king was paid to murder the king?

How was Macbeth not blamed for the murder of the King since it was at his home where this all happened.  Usually the first person to blame would be the host.

Predictions:
I predict that Macbeth will try everything in his power to hide the fact that he murdered the king by going after the King's son and taking there head for betrayal and the crime of killing or plotting the murder of the king.

Act 2 Scene 1 & 2 - Movie Edition

The old film and modern film are both same but was adapted differently.  In the old film, the director added a scene where it shows Macbeth killing the King when he woke up.  In the modern film, the director didn't show the part where Macbeth would kill the king.  Another difference is that in the old version, it given the viewer to what Macbeth sees with the floating dagger while in the modern version, it didn't show the viewer that he is seeing a floating dagger.  Another difference is how Macbeth and lady Macbeth acted to every sound they hear.  In the old version, they weren't as frighten as they were in the modern version.

I didn't really like how the modern version didn't show the dagger Macbeth imagined since it made him look crazy.  Just having the camera face him as he says words of the dagger doesn't feel right, it leaves the suspense for the time he goes and kill the king.

I think the part where Macbeth and lady Macbeth acted scared when they heard every single bit of sound was effected.  It shows how scared they are after they have murdered the king and hope they have enough time to calm down from it and be able to come up with a plan to blame someone else.  The banging sound in the old version is effective too since it's going to send a shock the Macbeth and make him think that the guards found out he is the murderer.

If I was the director, I would probably get rid of the noise they hear or at least reduce down since it doesn't feel right.  I'll just have 1 sound appear once and the rest to be the banging noise.  I'll also show the scene where Macbeth murders the king.

Act 2 Scene 2

Scene 2:
As lady Macbeth images how Macbeth would kill the king, she worries that the people around the area will hear the king's scream.  She had prepared a plan to kill the king if Macbeth were to fail.  She would have to kill the King herself, had he did not resemble his father.  Macbeth returns to lady Macbeth where he is shaken.  Lady Macbeth tries to calm him down at first, but gets angry at him for not leaving the dagger in his room.  Lady Macbeth takes the dagger and return it to the room as Macbeth didn't have the courage to do so.  Macbeth questioned if Neptune's ocean could wash away the blood and sins that had been left in his hands.  Lady Macbeth brought back water to wash Macbeth's hands and told him "A little water clears us of this deed."

I wonder how Macbeth forgot to leave the dagger in the king's room.  I would assume that when Macbeth killed the king, he would have dropped the dagger in fear of his actions.
Another question; How will Macbeth face the other thanes and higher ranking authority when he himself murdered the king?

I predict that an uproar will happen the next day where the thanes are trying to find out who killed the king while Macbeth is trying figure out a way to frame it on someone else.  Another prediction I have is that the other thanes will find out it's Macbeth and he will have to find a way to escape his own castle.

Suggestion:
A suggestion to make Macbeth more appealing is trying to make it more funnier.  Try turning it into a comedy.

Act 2: Scene 1

Scene 1:
In this scene, it starts off with Banquo and Fleance walking into a torch lit hall in Macbeth's castle.  Macbeth enters after Banquo and Fleance had their conversation where Banquo was surprised that he was still awake after midnight.  Banquo mentioned that the king is currently asleep and that he had a dream of the 3 weird sisters where he suggested that the witches had some truth to their words to Macbeth.  He replied that he had given no thought about it and that they would discuss it at a later time.  Banquo and Fleance leave and suddenly Macbeth had a vision of a dagger floating in the air before him where the handle pointed towards him and the blade pointed towards the King.  He had thoughts that had frightened him on the killing he's about to do.  He gathered his resolve to get ready to kill the King and when the bell was rung by Lady Macbeth, he would go.

Questions:
Why did Macbeth felt uneasy when he had thoughts about murdering King Duncan?  He surely had killed many people during the many battles he had faced.
Why did Macbeth change his mind so quickly after he had decided not to kill the king?

I predict that there's going to be chaos once everyone had find out that the King is dead.  They will have to find out who murdered him during the night.  The first people that will be suspicious will most likely be the guards that were guarding the entrance.  They will also be executed regardless as they failed to protect there king.

My reactions to this scene was with the death of the king.  It went by so quickly which surprised me.  There was only like a few lines that would somewhat describe the moment of death that will fell upon King Duncan.

Act 1: Scene 4 - 7

Scene 4:
It starts off at the palace where King Duncan gets a report on the execution of the Cawdor before Macbeth that he died nobly and confessed his crimes.  Macbeth and Banquo enters the palace with Ross and Angus where the king applaud them for there heroism in battle. Soon after, the king spoke his intentions to his son Malcolm and Macbeth declares his joy.  Macbeth now has to compete for the throne.

Scene 5:
In this scene, Lady Macbeth receives a letter from Macbeth saying that he has gain the title of cawdor and that he would be king according to the witch's prophecy.  Lady Macbeth feared that Macbeth won't be able to the necessary steps to become king.  So lady Macbeth decides to change her resolve and convince Macbeth to listen to her so he will become king.  When Macbeth arrives, lady Macbeth discussed with him the plans of assassinating the king.

Scene 6:
In this scene, King Duncan arrives in front of Macbeth's castle where lady Macbeth went to greet him.  Duncan praised the castle for its pleasant environment and thanks her when she greeted him.  Then he ask to go see Macbeth and lady Macbeth led the way.

Scene 7:
In this scene, it starts off with the servants preparing the meal for the evening feast.  During that time, Macbeth starting wondering if he should assassinate the king or not.  If he would risk the punishment he might get.  In the end he realized that he had no reason to kill him besides his own ambition.  Lady Macbeth finds Macbeth and tells him the king require his appearance.  At the moment Macbeth told lady Macbeth that he no longer have any intention of murdering the king.  Lady Macbeth starting giving him reasons and what would happen to his pride if he doesn't.  Macbeth then questioned if they were to fail and she replied that it won't happen since she's going to make the guards drunk.

My reaction for these scenes only appears in the modern film.  I was surprised by the tone of voice used by the actors.  When lady Macbeth was telling how much of a coward he would be if he didn't kill the king in an angry tone.  Macbeth also had slight anger to his voice when he told her that she would only have male children.

During these scenes, I wonder why lady Macbeth is so obsessed in getting the throne for Macbeth?  Does she have some sort of reason?
Another question is; What does she plan to do with the throne once Macbeth becomes king?

I predict that Macbeth will keep his words when he says he doesn't have any intention and won't be swayed by his wife.

Act 1 Scene 3

In Scene 3, Mac Beth talks to the 3 witches and they began calling him the thane of Glaims to thane of Cawdor and finally to King thereafter.  At first Mac Beth doesn't believe what they said and asked them where they got the information from.  They didn't answer and and disappears in thin air.  Once he returns back to his home(I think its his home), some time later Ross and Angus arrives to deliever Mac Beth the message of him becoming the thane of Cawdor.  It was at that moment where Mac Beth starting to believe what the witches has said and was amazed by what has happen that he was stuck in thought for while before being interrupted by Ross.  They then depart from Mac Beth's home to go see the king.

Again, I didn't really have a reaction to this scene.  The only reaction I had was with the modern version of the play where I see the 3 witches in the beginning doing something with blood and a jacket.  That part made me cringe at this scene for some apparent reason and I can't explain why.

I don't have any questions for this scene.  I predict that with the information he received with the encounter with the witches will screwed up his fate on becoming king at some point in the story.  Once you know something's going to happen, Mac Beth will try to keep the prophecy true but it always end up changing it and result in an alternative ending where he might die or not be king.

Act 1: Scene 1 & 2

In scene one, we get introduced to the three witches who talks to each other and wait for Macbeth to arrive.
In scene two, King Duncan and his men went to an army camp to see the captain wounded and began asking him questions.  The captain reply that General Mac Beth and Banquo fought with bravery and courage and described how he slew the traitor Macdonwald.  Then, King Duncan removes the current thane of Cawdor and gives it to Mac Beth as a messenger leaves to go deliver the news.

For scene 1, the only reaction I would say I had was with the appearance of the witches in the beginning.  Wasn't expecting old ugly witches.  Besides that, I didn't really find it a good beginning since it leaves the reader a lot of questions on what's going on.

For scene 2, I didn't have a reaction to the scene since the first scene didn't intrigue me to begin with, I don't really care what happens in scene 2.

My questions are: Was there any ways to improve the first scene better? and Why did the current thane of Cawdor rebel?

I predict that the more we get into the story, there might be back story to how it lead the current thane of Cawdor to rebel.
